"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has" -Margaret Mead
Why are we doing this?
We are doing this because all of us believe that climate change is a critical and immediate threat to our society and the future that the next generations will inherit. There are many solutions, but one is to reduce our global carbon footprint by using more solar energy, and that is something all three of us are familiar with.
What do we hope to achieve?
We want to achieve more solar installed in Virginia, more people knowledgeable about the ways to pay for solar, and a lessening of the energy burden for our disadvantaged communities. We want Virginia to be a leader in fighting climate change and also a leader in environmental and social justice.
How will we do it?
We will take charitable donations and solicit grants to allow us to install solar in more locations. We will install solar as a non-profit, using donated funds, and take the direct pay credit available for solar and roll that over to install more solar. We will also work with investors to help them realize the potential for investing in solar.
We will use grants and donations to perform energy audits for homes of those who might not be able to afford them and improve the energy efficiency of those homes to lessen their energy use and utility bills.
